Q1 - Exceeding Expectations - Again

Good morning to all:

North Star Marketing's Q1 '08 was full of new places, aces and faces. Account Managers where busy with trade shows, newsletters, sales initiatives and roadmapping. The Interactive Department launched two new websites, completed numerous website updates and broadcast several HTML emails. Our Creative Department outdid themselves with trade show booth designs, logos, ads and loads of collateral materials, while the Public Relations unit achieved some national placements, orchestrated a press conference and broadcast several press releases. Participation in our monthly teleconferences have doubled each month and we're plotting marketing, branding and public relations roadmaps for several new clients.

Places
Trade Shows were one of the biggest focuses in Q1. Our Public Relations team was at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (K-BIS) in Chicago to meet with editors from the Better Homes & Gardens group of publications, Bon Appétit, Martha Stewart Living, Metropolitan Home, and Woman's Day. Brand Specialists supported Action Products at the International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) show in Baltimore and McClarin Plastics at the Plastics Symposium in State College. North Star Marketing also produced new trade show booth designs for Aerzen USA and Garrod Hydraulics.

Aces
Our clients also had some pretty big happenings in Q1 and North Star Marketing was right there to support them. TIC Gums launched their Saladizer Max campaign with HTML emails, postcards and major updates to their website. Aerzen USA held a grand opening for their new eco-friendly building in Coatesville, PA and we were there to help spread the word through HTML emails, press releases and a press conference which was videotaped and broadcast to those editors who couldn't join us in person. And, Fenner Precision announced their acquisition of Winfield Industries, Buffalo, NY through press releases, an HTML email and website updates; all created by North Star Marketing.

During Q1 '08 we continued to help our clients better understand and communicate with their clients. North Star Marketing wrote and produced newsletters for McClarin Plastics, Costume Gallery and PEG. The Public Relations team secured a by-lined article for Simon Design Engineering as well as several consumer and trade placements for Snyder's of Hanover. We completed a customer perception study for Markley Actuarial and helped them develop a 6-point strategic and tactical roadmap to increase sales. Grafika Printing's first HTML email broadcast this quarter and achieved a 14% open rate.

North Star Marketing helped McClarin Plastics and Garrod Hydraulics with their communications efforts on the web with posts to YouTube. McClarin Plastics' Plastic and Fiberglass Repair video has been viewed over 1,500 times while two videos from Garrod Hydraulics have been viewed over 700 times. Also on the web front, North Star Marketing launched new websites and blogs for Grafika Printing and TIC Gums.

Faces
We met some great new people at the World Trade Center of Central PA's annual conference on April 29 in Harrisburg where we presented a seminar on Public Relations.

On the agency level, things were also hopping. We welcomed a new face to the North Star Marketing family. Lynn Williams joined the team as a Brand Specialist/Account Manager. Lynn brings 10 years of experience, most recently from the PA Public Utility Commission and Auntie Anne's.

Speaking of new faces - or voices in this case - participation in our free monthly teleconferences have more than doubled since we began offering them in January. To date, we've talked about using the web, social networking, public relations, and sales initiatives.
