MARKETING
TIP #083
Three Keys to Front Page News
- Every story needs a good storyteller and when you’re working with the press, even more so. Every story should have a “face” – the one person who represents the story, whether it’s your CEO, a celebrity, an academic expert, a government official or an author. News that covers your company needs a “face.”
- What’s the “money deal” in your story? Every story has a financial aspect that the press will pay attention to. If your new product line adds jobs, highlight that in the story. The media is always looking for “pocketbook” issues and wants to know how your product or service is affecting the bottom line.
- Is your news about a new product? Then showcase how it fixes a problem. Editors know that most new product releases are full of “hot air,” but if you can show that you’re fixing a common, thorny problem with a real solution, you will get a reporter’s interest.
Getting news coverage is critical to building credibility and increasing your brand equity. PR is a way to make regular deposits in your brand bank account. Call us – we know so much about PR we can help anyone!
